Committed to ensuring maximum transparency and security in our services, we describe below the information we collect from each sale, how it is used, stored, handled and how each customer can access or request to change/delete it.

The implementation of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) aims to regulate data processing and ensure the right to data protection. We ensure its implementation, seeking to prevent misuse and establish the integrity and security of our clients' information.

1. Information collected

The information collected by W2ME is limited to that which is essential to maintain quality service and ensure the success of transactions and shipments, as well as client-oriented communications. We may therefore, upon deliberate provision of the same by the client, collect the following information:

  • Identity: full name, age and date of birth, gender, tax number;
  • Purchase history and product preferences;
  • Products placed on Wishlist, Reviews and Product Reviews;
  • Address: delivery and billing address;
  • Contacts: email address and telephone number;
  • Payment methods information: bank name, card type, part of the card number or associated account, where applicable;
  • Technical access information to our website (IP, access data and time, access platform);
  • Social Media, when used for interaction with our platforms, as well as the content shared with us through them;
  • Contact preferences - marketing campaigns and targeted communication.

2. Means of collecting information

The personal information collected by W2ME is always collected upon acceptance by the client, or arising from its deliberate use of our services. This collection can be done in several ways, namely through the creation of a client account, contact with our customer service/social networks, newsletter subscription, conclusion of a purchase and participation in sweepstakes and offers.

3. Use of the information provided

The information collected serves the purpose of guaranteeing the best possible service to each customer. The information provided by the client may only be used for the purposes for which it is made available.

The information collected by our services will primarily serve, as mentioned above, to ensure the success of transactions and shipping requests. The monitoring of the moment of purchase, order processing, invoicing and order tracking, as well as all pre and post purchase support are of high importance to the consumer.

Additionally, this information will be the basis for adjusting and personalising the communication sent (with the express authorisation of the customer), as well as for sharing promotions, products and offers targeted at each customer.

4. Cookies and Marketing Tools

W2ME uses various marketing, advertising and analytical tools in order to facilitate the search and direct the offers, targeting communications to the individual interests of each client.

In this sense, the W2ME site is also optimised to offer the best individual experience to each client. The use of cookies (small files with access information that are stored in the browser) allows information to be stored about each client's individual sessions, which can be retrieved when the client returns. This information allows not only the aforementioned personalisation of the service, but also the improvement of the site's performance.

The existing integration between our website and social networks allows us to share our products and disclose various communications, and it is possible to use these cookies to record information about the customer.

The customer is notified of the use of cookies on first access to the site and may or may not allow their use.

5. Targeted communication

The advertising and marketing tools used by our brand provide our clients with segmented information focused on individualised consumption and research/interest histories and are sent automatically and in a personalised manner.

In addition, our newsletters will be sent automatically by proper software. The customer can cancel these automatically, or by contacting us by email at apoio.cliente@w2me.pt.

6. Sharing of collected data

W2ME does not share the information it collects with third parties.

The only data sharing that occurs is with the entities that work with us and are part of our business, in order to carry out the entirity of the sales process - namely, companies involved in the purchase process (banks, invoicing system, payment services and carriers), marketing services and site hosts and the Tax Authority.

7. Protection of collected data

All information provided is stored on secure servers and measures are implemented to ensure its protection. The payment information is encrypted to ensure greater security and anticipate possible fraud. Payments are automatically processed by the chosen method, no full information is stored to proceed with payments.

W2ME commits to implement all possible measures to ensure the security of all data provided, as well as to inform the client of any security breaches and take measures to mitigate such breaches.

There will be a record of all security breaches and measures taken to mitigate them.

8. Data storage

Customer data is stored for as long as they have an active customer record or as long as necessary to provide the service, and in certain cases it may be necessary to retain some data even after deletion of records or completion of services.

9. Informed consent and access to collected data

The provision of the requested information and account creation, are associated with the provision of consent to the maintenance and processing of data. This consent can be withdrawn by indication of the customer.

Following the rules established in the General Data Protection Regulation, each client can also access or check, change or request the erasure of the data provided at any time. For this purpose, an email should be sent to apoio.cliente@w2me.pt. Confirmation of identity may be required to carry out these actions.

The data in the customer file can also be consulted and changed in the customer area of our website.

10. Modifications to the Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be revised or amended upon new guidelines or internal/external rules, and the information on this page will be updated.
